Breaking through the scepticism
barrier of alternative therapies
This article follows on from the report in ECHOES Issue 376 on
Bio Energy/Bi Aura Therapy by George Mackenzie. This is a relatively
recently revised therapy based on ancient healing arts and the
body’s energy field. This is a first hand account by a volunteer
who received no payment from either George Mackenzie or Echoes
-
I was volunteered to undergo Bio Energy Treatment at the hands
of George Mackenzie, as was stated in ECHOES, issue 376.
I was sceptical, I am not convinced by complementary alternative
therapies but, if I am strictly honest, I have almost no experience
of them.
I read the press reports as well as leaflets on Bio Energy Therapy
and I was quite astounded by the claims ranging from solving migraine/back
pain problems to still living with cancer, over 10 years after
being given three months to live.
So what was wrong with me that I needed treatment? No comment
from the family, please. A general malaise – a feeling that
I was under par, depressed, lacked energy, was achy, regular headaches,
frequently exhausted, very poor sleeping pattern – I possibly
could add frequently stressed out and bad-tempered.
I could have put these down to residual ME and/or long term dependency
on insulin. I wasn’t looking for a cure for diabetes –
but if I could get rid of all the niggly things which together
make one mega barrier to leading a decent life – that could
only have a beneficial effect on the diabetes, bringing to a conclusion
a vicious circle which would disappear like a corkscrew.
That’s me: what about George? Down-to-earth, convinced
(from his own experience) and convincing about bio energy. I decided
I would undertake three sessions at weekly intervals, followed
by a further session one month later. Then a pause to evaluate
before this article.
Aware that I had revealed more than I would normally, I doubted
if I could stand still for 30 minutes as requested but closed
me eyes and listened to the music.
I could sense where George was and I heard the swoosh of the
wind as George moved his hands, the wind out of proportion to
his actions (I peeped).
Then came the light.
I kid you not – this was disconcerting. It was a bright
white gleaming light that George scooped up from knee level and
it flooded into my left eye where I’d recently had surgery.
This probably lasted five minutes. No, it wasn’t a torch.
I searched – I’m the sceptic, remember. I can give
no rational explanation for that light but I can see it still.
Now this was not a St Paul type conversation on the road to Damascus.
I did not become a believer instantly in alternative therapies.
To be honest, George was a tad taken aback, as each client is
treated as an individual and no two reactions/experiences are
the same.
I had other effects – burning fingers, tingly feet, hot
down one side of my body, cold down the other. Nothing unpleasant.
George could feel ‘knots’ in my energy field outside
my body and he exercised his non-tactile approach to unravel them.
We talked and I was warned that it might get worse before it
got better. And it did.
After an initial joie de vivre, I wept tears of tiredness after
a day’s work; but towards the end of the week, I found my
sleep pattern was more normal and I felt refreshed when I woke
up.
Slightly less sceptical, I was drawn back for my next session
by that inexplicable white light.
